CAMILA CABELLO WANTS TO REMOVE THE NEGATIVE CONNOTATION FROM THE WORD “IMMIGRANT”

Immigrants are brave, unique and unified

Camila Cabello is a Cuban-born American singer and songwriter.

You probably best recognize her from the girl band “Fifth Harmony”.

In December 2016 she left the group and began a new direction independently.

She first rose to fame when she decided to audition for The X Factor, where she performed for the first time in front of an audience.

At just 20 years of age, Camila is already a rising star with a promising future ahead of her, yet her life wasn’t always so glamorous.

Camila immigrated from Cuba to the US with her mother in search of better opportunities when she was just 6 years old – the entire journey took them a whole month as they needed to go through Mexico.

They came alone, with no money, and a tough language barrier.

Camila looks up to her mother’s strength and wishes people in the US would understand what many immigrants go through to provide a better life for their children.

There is such a negative connotation surrounding the word but there are so many incredible people out there whose lived depended on immigration.
